Summary:
The Instructor of Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for the instruction of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) students in the didactic, skills lab, and clinical arenas and for providing a quality education for program students and performing instructional-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies and procedures of the college and the nursing program.
Serving as a teacher, mentor and facilitator of learning.

Minimum rate is Associates' degree prepared with three years professional nursing experience.
Maximum rate is Doctorate degree prepared and five or more years of experience.

Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Teaches assigned CNA courses and maintains written instructional standards; facilitates instruction using alternative delivery methods as needed; informs students in writing of instructional standards; posts and maintains office hours; participates in the assessment of student learning outcomes; establishes, maintains and submits accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner Directs the assessment of student learning outcomes; establishes, maintains and submits accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner; coordinates the distribution and collation of student evaluations of course and clinical/lab faculty; communicates with students regarding program quality; addresses any student issues, concerns, special needs and test reviewsCollaborates in the development of new courses, curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools; reviews and updates course outlines, textbooks, and course procedure sheets for CNA courses; assists with the preparation of course proposals, curriculum updates and the construction of degree/certificate programs; analyzes CNA program effectiveness emphasizing a culture of continuous improvementApplies and maintains standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures; implements changes as necessary to maintain a successful CNA program; integrates knowledge of industry trends and professional training to continuously improve program qualityParticipates in CNA course scheduling, department, division and college meetings; maintains records in compliance with Arizona State Board of Nursing regulations and statutes governing CNA education; serves on college committees as assignedPerforms other related duties as assignedGeneral Expectations:

Associates' degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education Arizona Registered Nurses Licensure in good standingThree years of experience as a professional medical/surgical nurse Current CPR CertificationArizona DPS Fingerprint clearance card for clinical accessSuccessful completion of Cochise College's Medical History and PhysicalAn equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered.
