Summary:
The part-time Building Monitor for the Benson Center is responsible for supporting building activities, including classes and events by providing customer service to students, instructors, employees and visitors, and ensures safety and security of inhabitants, facilities, and equipment.

Responsibilities:
Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Provides friendly and professional customer service by responding to phone calls and in person inquiries of students, instructors, and the general public Provides basic technical assistance in classrooms and computer lobby, ensuring computer systems, sympodiums, and projectors are appropriately logged-off, and contacting technical support as required Maintains safety and security of facilities by monitoring activity in and around the building and parking lot; monitors facility usage by ensuring visitors sign in and out and enforcing rules; completes and maintains reports and documentation related to security records and reception desk responsibilities Prepares receipts and secures any monies collected; maintains key inventory, tracking key check-outs and check-ins, ensuring keys are accounted for at end of shift; reports maintenance repair needs, incidents, and concerns to supervisor Opens facilities for special events as required, assisting with event set up and tear down as needed, and securing building after classes and/or events; performs basic facility maintenance, including emptying trash and restocking of paper supplies as needed Conducts a security check of building, including all offices, classrooms and restrooms to verify that they are vacant; lock classrooms and all exterior doors; documents security problems and safety issues as required, contacting emergency personnel if needed Performs other related duties as assigned General Expectations:

Work is primarily performed under limited supervision.
Incumbent generally performs work in a typical classroom or office setting with appropriate climate controls.
Work requires late afternoon, evening and weekend shifts.
