Come join the newest State Agency, the Department of Child Safety (DCS) as a Behavioral Health Clinical Coordinator (BHCC). The BHCC will be part of the clinically oriented, Trauma Informed DCS Behavioral Health Unit--the newest DCS Unit. The BH Clinical Coordinator will join a team of Behavioral Health Professionals and a BH Medical Director that providers clinical guidance for the behavioral health program within the Department of Child Safety; both for DCS and CMDP.
As DCS BH Clinical Coordinator, you are eligible to be credentialed as a Behavioral Health Technician, and you have knowledge in Trauma Informed Care philosophy, the AZ Children's System of Behavioral Health Care, and you understand the unique needs of the child welfare population.
The Behavioral Health Clinical Coordinator position coordinates behavioral health care on behalf of CMDP members in out-of-home care. The Behavioral Health Clinical Coordinator supports the CMDP Membership by serving as a liaison between DCS, the Courts, the RBHA and behavioral health providers; provides recommendations regarding behavioral health care for CMDP members to DCS workers and supervisors from a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) approach and will attend Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings and hospital staffings as necessary; serves as the DCS field expert on TIC, covered behavioral health services, evidenced based behavioral health practices, local behavioral health resources, healthcare funding, and TXIX eligibility; regularly meets with DCS workers to staff complex cases and obtain information on potential problems/concerns regarding the behavioral health service delivery system. Elevates these concerns to BH Unit management as necessary; recognizes behavioral health quality of care concerns and reports these concerns, as appropriate; represents DCS during stakeholder meetings, and provides in-service training to DCS staff; cost shifts behavioral health services to the appropriate payor (RBHA system of care and TXIX funds), and diverts general fund expenditures for medically necessary services, takes appropriate action when behavioral health services are court ordered, which could include attending hearings to support DCS staff and/or make behavioral health recommendations; creates a collaborative plan of action with the RBHA or behavioral health provider when a RBHA denial is issued for services or placement. The Behavioral Health Clinical Coordinator will have the knowledge and skills to perform the tasks required and provide the information required by the CMDP Behavioral Health Manager, Director of Medical Services, Medical Director and Program Administrator.
About the Behavioral Health unit : The DCS Behavioral Health (BH) Unit oversees and strengthens the coordination of care efforts for Children in out of home care. The BH Unit focuses on ensuring clinical decisions from a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) approach that produce best outcomes for our children while maximizing TXIX funds for behavioral health services.
About CMDP: CMDP contracts with AHCCCS and is the Acute care health plan responsible for ensuring, in partnership with foster care providers, the provision of appropriate and quality health care services for the well-being of Arizona's children in foster care. Knowledge of: Health care administration as it relates to children in foster care; knowledge as it relates to ADBHS policies and procedures, including covered behavioral health services; behavioral health services available under Medicaid; community behavioral health resources and service providers; trauma Informed Care principles and behavioral health evidenced based practices for the child welfare population; knowledge of the CFT process, JK Settlement, and the 12 Principles for AZ's Children's System of Care.
Skill in: Considerable skill in oral and written communication; interpersonal, community and group relations; crisis management.
Ability to: Think critically and problem solve; work on multiple tasks at once and stay organized; input and track data accurately and timely.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Eligible to be credentialed as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) under within 6 months of hire. A BHT is:
An individual who meets the applicable requirements in A.A.C. R9-20-204 and:
1. Has a master's degree or bachelor's degree in a field related to behavioral health;
2. Is a registered nurse;
3. Is a physician assistant who is not working as a medical practitioner;
4. Has a bachelor's degree and at least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience;
5. Has an associate's degree and at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience;
6. Has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and:
1. 18 credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to behavioral health completed no more than four years before the date the individual begins providing behavioral health services and two years of full-time behavioral health work experience; or
2. Four years of full-time behavioral health work experience; or
7. Is licensed as a practical nurse, according to A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 15, with at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS : The ability to secure an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and the ability to secure clearance from the CPS Central Registry.
SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field; 2 + years experience in Arizona's behavioral health system; Experience working in child welfare system; knowledge of Medicaid behavioral health service array, the CFT process, JK Settlement, and the 12 Principles for AZ's Children's System of Care.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : In-state travel is required. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
